The UK: The miner's canary of libertyReader comment on item: Why MEF Supports Tommy Robinson Submitted by Michael S (United States), Aug 3, 2018 at 17:07 Thank you, Daniel for putting a human face on the story. Britons have been struggling since 1215, to get and keep individual liberty Tommy Robinson appears to be pat of this tradition. Imagine King John, arresting Englishmen for opposing an invasion of the British Isles by Turks and Egyptians. Tommy was not put on the rack, nor burned at the stake; but the Islamist invasion he has been opposing threatens not only to claim Britain for the Jihadis; but also to undo the freedom Britain won for itself and the rest of the world at the signing of the Magna Carta (1215) Is Britain the miner's canary for the rest of the Western world? It is there that the song of freedom was first heard; and if the attitude of the UK government doesn't turn around, we may no longer hear it sung.
