Be Concerned, Not Alarmed

Trump has some pretty good instincts, particularly when it comes to not idealizing Islam and the Third World. He also is a person who doesn't seem to care what other people think about him, and that carries over into his relations with other countries; he'll do what he wants and to hell with what they think about it. That's good in that he's no appeaser, like Obama, but it could be bad in that he can be as insensitive about other countries' circumstances as he is about other people's feelings. And, Trump isn't the deepest thinker around. In sum, there could be trouble from him, but Israel seems to have dodged the bullet so far, probably because Israelis are opposed by the sort of people Trump dislikes.
