A simple oath

Dear Dr Pipes, at the height of cold war immigrants to the US were probably asked to testify that they had no association with any communist group. I see no harm if today's immigrants to the democratic world are required to sign a simple oath that they do and would support democracy, secularism and separation of church and state in their host countries even if it goes against Islamic doctrines. I know that many can easily lie but the message will be loud and clear to most.
