What is Sharon thinking?

Today is Aug. 15. As Israel leaves Gaza, Abbas and the Palestinians say it is only the beginning.

Leaving Gaza is meaningless if not followed by withdrawal to the 67 borders. Is that what Sharon and his team have in mind? If such withdrawal happens,for multiple reasons that Dr Pipes can set out, we will be looking at Israel's possible demise..and for sure, grave insecurity. Such a step would also make Sharon a liar (and more) of immense proportions, so I can't imagine him considering this. On the other hand, without full compliance to its demands (they sound so just) the Palestinians will not speak of peace (I say speak because that seems to be all they intend).So which is it Sharon? And why have you taken this step that only reinforces Palestinian demands with no prospect for peace?
