I think that Prime Minister Sharon is bargaining that the light of reason , non violence, and racial tolerance will imbue the forces of Palestinian liberation. If they do not, after Israel pulled back from Lebanon, then this is the last dovish attempt to get along and so on, and all bets are off.

I agree with Mr. Pipes that a pushy 'give me more' type of death to Israel element powers the inner corridors of Palestinian power, and one can only hope that the hard liners wise up and see the big picture of needed racial tolerance. The stakes are high, and a ghastly repeat of Hitler's deception concerning Poland in 1939 would be calamitous.
