Unnecessary piece.Reader comment on item: Trump's Mideast 'Deal of the Century' May Be a Raw One for Israel Submitted by Ephraim Lior (United States), Jan 24, 2019 at 16:31 I can understand if a leftist media would started looking for tiny fleas to demonstrate and overemphasize the disagreements between Trump (adm'n) and Israel. That would be logical for Democrats, pro-Palestinians, and Islamists to drive a wedge between two unprecedentedly close friends. I find this, coming from MEF unnecessary and frankly unfortunate. You might have some immediate political reasons to demonstrate "objectivity" in assessing Trump's policies, that could be an excuse. In this case, however, you should have also allowed Trump to have immediate political reasons to state something out of expected otherwise. In fact, given his poker style this would not be much a surprise. And personally, I trust his style to be working more effectively for him (and for us). We both had "severe reservations about Donald Trump" as you put it in today's MEF commemoration. I still am very critical of many things he's saying and doing, but I wouldn't do anything to undermine him. Your excerpts of Sept 13 and Oct 8 are most unconvincing of any alleged Trump's fault. I don't understand why would you want to base you critical views on leaks and unconfirmed sources. Trump is still the best what could happen for Israel and for America. He gives us many reasons to criticize him, but your allusions were unnecessary and perhaps harmful for both countries. Respectfully, sorry.
