Heads: Israel's enemies win. Tails: Israel losesReader comment on item: How Trump Put Netanyahu in an Untenable Position Submitted by Dave (United States), Aug 17, 2019 at 10:15 In her exclusionary actions, Israel is certainly guilty of all the sins cataloged here. On the other hand, if Israel had relented, who doubts that those two would have hosted a slavering media circus highlighting all of Israel's sins against the poor, helpless, persecuted and victimized Palestinians. In either case, Israel would be found guilty in the court of bien pensant opinion. Of course, there's always an outside chance that one of the two would have a change of heart, and maybe the Mets will win the World Series. And please, can we for once not try to blame Donald Trump for this? In general, if Israel is guilty of anything, it is being too tolerant of enemies, too democratic. For example, Israel's Supreme Court ruled against Otzma, a right-wing party favoring deportation of Arabs, but did not outlaw anti-Zionist parties that favor the dissolution of Israel. These parties, a coalition of Islamists and Jewish Communists, are allowed to use Israel's democratic infrastructure to undermine and destroy the state. Meanwhile, Israel tolerates ultra-orthodox, anti-Zionist nut jobs like the Naturei Karta, who make Code Pink look like the Tel Aviv Chamber of Commerce. The high birth rate of the anti-Zionist ultra-orthodox, coupled with a hostile Arab minority are Israel's greatest threats. It seems strange that Israel would be so firm in excluding foreigners who support BDS, but be so soft on domestic subversives who want to eliminate the state, a far more serious threat. How about a little consistency? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
