Personalized attacks on gay people is wrongReader comment on item: The Demon in Liberalism Submitted by aidan maconachy (Canada), Aug 23, 2019 at 16:35 Demonization of homosexual persons... attacks on them as people... is never acceptable in any society that calls itself civilized. However I do believe that even in a society where free speech is under threat, traditionalists should have the right to oppose liberal values such as blanket LGBTQ support, without being accused of hate speech. Traditional Catholics, Jews and others must be allowed to speak up for their values without themselves being demonized. But it can be a fine line and in raising tradition-based objections to liberal values care has to be taken that it doesn't descend into an ad hominem attack on individuals.
