Back in the early 1990's, when a couple hundred people (at most) in Kaifeng started to look into their Jewish roots and ask to be recognized as a national minority, coupled with a few foreign Communists who settled in China going frum in their old age, the Communist Party circulated a worried think piece reminding the members about what happened to Soviet Big Brother once "Those People" started getting uppity.
