For Daisy, more on terrorism against women in KashmirReader comment on item: British Opinion Surveys from an Islamist Hell Submitted by Swahili Dinaz (India), Sep 29, 2005 at 11:13 The emerging scenario, as a result, indicates a sharp turn against the anti-people Pak-backed Islamism in Kashmir. Unlike Pakistanis, Kashmiris can never be a part of a Greater Saudi Arabia! They now admit that Kashmir cannot be a land-locked independent State like the Central Asian Republics -- as yet another jihadi outpost in the midst of four nuclear powers! The whole story of West Asian jihadi adventurism in Kashmir is soon to be a part of history. But it served Pakistani interests as a crucible for training and experimentation in preparation for the on-going jihadi War against Europe and America for almost a decade.http://edition.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/asiapcf/06/13/kashrmir.blast/ http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/1487395.stm; http://chronicle.com/errors.dir/noauthorization.php3?page=/daily/2001/08/2001081506n.htm Acid attacks to enforce dress code for women [Also see Pakistan Facts, http://www.pakistan-facts.com/article.php?story=20030728232138538] http://www.tribuneindia.com/2002/20021228/j&k.htm Three girls were beheaded in Rajouri district of Jammu as they refused to obey the diktat of the terrorists to wear ‘burqa' and not attend the educational institutions. There was scare as the terrorists have renewed the same diktat. http://ikashmir.org/WailValley/B2chap13.html Scores of Sikh girls have been abducted and brutally converted to the Islamic religion. http://www.rediff.com/news/2002/dec/21jk1.htm J&K: Woman beheaded for not wearing burqa And Women Terrorists for Jihad http://www.satp.org/satporgtp/countries/india/states/jandk/terrorist_outfits/dukhtaran.htm http://www.jammu-kashmir.com/archives/archives2004/kashmir20040724b.html http://www.expressindia.com/kashmir/full_story.php?content_id=55553&type=ei ..the activists of Dukhtaran-i-Millat, a hardline separatist women's organisation, again raided the beauty parlours here, telling the owners to shut down or face action. Lastly, nearly where it began once again after the end of the Afghanistan War: http://www.jammu-kashmir.com/archives/archives2004/kashmir20040629c.html Six Western tourists trekking in the Himalayas were kidnapped by a terrorist group, al- Faran (which later changed its name to Harkat-ul Mujahideen). While one hostage escaped, another, Hans Christian Ostro, a Norwegian, was beheaded. 'Al-Faran' was carved with a knife on Ostro's torso. While Ostro's beheading by militants evoked outrage world-wide and captured international attention, the beheading of hundreds of ordinary Kashmiris and Indian soldiers by the militants has gone almost unnoticed. The adoption of medieval practices such as beheading and chopping off people's noses and ears since the mid- 1990s in Jammu and Kashmir has been attributed to the increasing Talibanization of the militancy.
