Gaza Pullout, Israeli version of the Munich Pact of 1938Reader comment on item: Expert predicts more violence in Gaza Submitted by Darwin Barrett (United States), Oct 1, 2005 at 09:34 The culture of the west has evolved to a point that it is afraid to confront anyone except government and authority. The few who try are ostracised by the left wing dominated intellectual, educational, and mass media communities. We will attempt to appease the Islamists until the pendulum swings away from political correctness to dogmatic obedience. When that happens, what is the most likely dogma we will be forced to obey? In the 1940s, it would have been Hitler, but the world united against him. The Soviet communist threat disolved of its own dead weight (although the west claimed victory). What is the likelihood that Islam will modernize or otherwise disappear as a threat? What is the liklihood that the world will unite against the Islamists? What is the liklihood that the west will overcome its fear of confronting the worldwide movement to rid the planet of non-Muslims? The answer to the last three questions: It is highly unlikely.Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
