Response to kanadanuReader comment on item: Expert predicts more violence in Gaza Submitted by Walter (Canada), Oct 7, 2005 at 01:21 While I admire your sympathies for the Jewish people, you assertion that the majority of Non-Muslim countries sympathize with Israel and the Jews is not correct. In 1938, 32 countries met at Evian to discuss solutions to German persecution of the Jews and to consider Hitler's offer to deport the Jews to any country willing to receive them. Hitler's response to the Evian conference was the following: "I can only hope and expect that the other world, which has such deep sympathy for these criminals, will at least be generous enough to convert this sympathy into practical aid. We, on our part, are ready to put all these criminals at the disposal of these countries, for all I care, even on luxury ships". Remarkably, only 3 countries expressed a willingness to change their immigration policy limits to admit Jews. They were Santo Domingo, which offered to take in 100,000 Jews and Holland and Denmark, which offered to take in Jews without restrictions for short period of time. The other 29 countries refused to increase their quotas for immigration above their present levels. And that includes the USA, which could have easily accepted the entire Jewish population in Germany. The sad fact is that Jews have been, dominated, reviled and persecuted, without cause I might add, throughout most of the world since 581 B.C. Even to this day, the nations of this world are demanding that Israel give up more land to appease the Muslims in spite of the fact that they occupy only 7% of the land that was mandated to them in 1920 by the League of Nations. And if you want more proof, simply check the voting record of the United Nations in regards to any helpful or positive motions put forward which would benefit Israel.
