Conspiracy theories never dieReader comment on item: Twenty Years After 9/11 Submitted by Jeff (United States), Sep 12, 2021 at 22:26 Hi Leslie, I first heard the same story shortly after 9/11. I was in Europe at the time, and a Swiss colleague asked me why no Jews showed up for work at the World Trade Center on 9/11. Very taken aback, I answered with something like, funny the NYPD hadn't noticed. Funny the FBI never noticed. Hearing such a thing from a perfectly well-educated European, I had a feeling then that this idiotic "theory" would never die. Which apparently it hasn't. Jews are just so convenient to blame for everything. As I recall, it wasn't Jews who celebrated in the streets on 9/11.
