Afghanistan on the Great LakesReader comment on item: Middle East Migrants: Stay in Your Culture Zone Submitted by Andy Palec (United States), Oct 4, 2021 at 21:51 It is eye opening that in my state, Wisconsin, where some 12,000 Afghans are temporarily housed, we are host to more Syrian refugees than Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan combined. There is a conundrum however that many of these refugees assisted US and NATO forces during our long military presence and we have an obligation to those Afghans. But I am deeply skeptical and distrustful of the rushed vetting process and the deference to Islamic culture by a government that cannot seem to get much right when it comes to sovereignty and finding Middle Eastern or Central Asian countries for their repatriation makes sense.
