Reasons To Be Uncomfortable with Turkiye - Syria is Turkiye's Ukraine by Proxy AmbitionsReader comment on item: Turkey's Expulsion from NATO Remains Unlikely Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Jul 26, 2022 at 17:25 Dr. Pipes' inclusion of the map of the Syrian conflict zones does much to update this observer's apprehension that all is not right as the delineations shown do not represent all the underlying factors that will eventually result in a couple of theater-changing paradigm shifts hovering on several horizons. Just as former ex-Soviet ambitions underlay the Russian incursion into the Ukraine and beyond, so too are the former Ottoman influences Turkish Leader Erdoğan operates under in his own revived ambitions of empire and Syria tempts and taunts his own continuing incursions into now former Syrian territories held by all those who are attemptiong to depose al-Assad. And what have the Russians to say about this, quietly carving out their own terms of occupation? How is it that the Russian occupation is not shown?
