Verses of Quran, religious scriptures, and fighting the wrong battleReader comment on item: Open Mecca to the World Submitted by Prashant (India), Sep 15, 2022 at 01:14 Dear Dr Pipes, I read Aymenn Jawad Al-Tamimi's message with interest. Sometimes, as an observer of religions, I feel that religious (and conservative) people fight wrong battles. For religious people the biggest adversaries should be the atheists who deny the existence of God or, even more importantly, the people who claim to be believers but indulge in bad actions. Instead, the religious people spend their energies in fighting with each other about whether God can have a form, or which Son, if any, the God had. If the believers can get past these few questions, they can agree on some real challenges like how to bring the young people to prayer rooms; any prayer rooms, that is. Or, how to keep them away from drugs and violence. But, probably, I am being too simplistic here.
