Precisely. Mr. Pipes brings clarity to the whirlwind of efforts to eliminate Israel.

From the direct Final Solution rantings of the Iranian mullahs to the boardroom of UN ambassadors in dignified observance of shahids who murdered Israeli men, women and children, Israel remains vilified. A Nation that should not exist.

Those same terrorists that Annan and company paid homage held in such reverence by the Iranian mullahs that Iranian government has begun a campaign to sign up thousands of people, including children, in a jihadist army of shahids to march on Israel. Maybe Annan can go to Iran to take part in their valedictory ceremony. During the 8 year Iran - Iraq war, the only request for a truce was made by Iran so it could sent trainloads of soldiers through Iraq to fight Israel. Saddam considered it and denied that truce. I wonder if Annan thinks of that as an historic "missed opportunity" for a "peaceful settlement" of that war.

Mr. Pipes brings into the context that Israel itself, by her willingness to make deals with the arafats and consider them with Hamas helps to allow such attitudes. There is no denying that but consider who Israel is. Consider her size. Consider how alone she is.

Consider that Israel's most engaged enemies - those Arab nations which have waged war against her starting in 1948 - have not suffered in any way from their open aggression. After each war they return to their UN seats - uncensored let alone expelled- to begin a new round of "diplomatic" efforts to isolate and harm Israel which is met with overwhelming approval by most nations.

Her enemies proudly proclaim their hatred from both national and international podiums while her friends are ashamed to admit that friendship let alone express a concern for her citizens well being. Her only ally is the United States who despite her support has pushed Israel to accept formulas with her enemies which endanger the welfare of Israel itself. A nation such as Israel which truly desires peace and is subjected to wars of extermination, oil producing nation boycotts, diplomatic isolation, vilification by both Western and Arabic nations cannot be chastised for making wrong moves from time to time in her efforts to achieve some kind of normalcy .
