Who is worse -- Zinn or Chomsky?Reader comment on item: The Iraq Dilemma Submitted by Subhasis (United States), Oct 10, 2002 at 02:19 Daniel, I have read most of your columns and transcripts regularly since 9/11. I have been consistently impressed by your objective and thoughtful analysis. While I agree with your analysis on the Indian-Pakistani and Israeli-Palestinian issues, I am, above all, soundly behind your solidly pro-American analysis. You are one of the best analysts at trying to sort through the numerous security issues vis a vis terrorism. I read your material because I believe that when you begin to analyze a threat you start out thinking " How do we prevent another 9/11 ?" and "How does this advance America's security and interest? How are Americans safer ?" Howard Zinn is in the Chomsky school of "America is always wrong" mindless analysis. I don't believe that jingoism is healthy. But I believe even more strongly that visceral anti-Americanism is obscene on the part of Amercians. To suggest that "America is the most dangerous country on earth" speaks volumes. It is comments like that which reveal the utter moral bankruptcy of the American left that became transparent after 9/11. Zinn would be wise to read the likes of Walzer, Hitchens, and Rosenbaum -- intelligent liberals who have exposed mindless antiAmericanism on the left for what it is. Mindless. Keep up the good work.
