Sharia in AmericaReader comment on item: Articulating American Ideals to Muslims Submitted by Richard (United States), Jan 14, 2006 at 11:20 I came across an interesting posting at LGF about the "Dhimmitization" of a community in the State of Michigan - http://littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/?entry=18850#c0408.Apparently, a local pool denied permission for a Muslim to swim in a burqa due to health and safety concerns and as a result, the ACLU (headed by a self-loathing Jew) and CAIR jumped into action. Consequently, the community is not only permitting bathing in accordance to Sharia, but they are, "Crafting a policy that allowed observant people of multiple religions to swim in public while wearing clothes is the first of a three-pronged approach to the issue, said County Commissioner Conan Smith, D-Ann Arbor, who also sits on the Parks Commission. Park staff will also receive religious sensitivity training to learn about the different faiths practiced by patrons so they are better prepared to handle future situations, Smith said. Commissioners also felt it was important to offer alternatives and, in addition to the swimsuits already on sale at the facilities, the county will offer inexpensive long nylon pants and long-sleeved shirts that meet safety regulations and respect religious requirements." Another development which occured in this community was the establishment of a Bank subsidary which operates according to Sharia, "The Ann Arbor-based University Bank has created the University Islamic Financial Corp. to offer Muslims home financing, deposit accounts and Islamic mutual fund shares. "The formation of the subsidiary allows us to have a financial institution which is 100 percent in compliance with the Muslim Shariah, the legal code of the Islamic religion," bank President and Chairman Stephen Lange Ranzini told The Ann Arbor News for a Saturday story. Among the laws of Shariah is a ban against paying or receiving interest. The bank's Islamic deposit accounts allow Muslims to open accounts where any profits are shared rather than paid as interest. University Bank also offers a mortgage alternative loan transaction program - or MALT - which replaces a traditional home loan with a redeemable lease. The bank holds the home in trust, and a home buyer makes monthly payments to that trust. Each rent payment includes a set amount of savings, which builds the buyer's equity in the home. When the savings account equals the home's original purchase price, the buyer owns it." If these events are true, and there is no reason to suspect otherwise, then we are facing very serious challenges. Our nation's laws are being circumvented by the efforts of a religious group determined to undermine our way of life.
