The root cause of the "embracing"

The cause of the embracing is the religious relationship between the three montheistic groups. We in the West feel a kinship (I suppose) with a "one god" believer. If these murdering terrorists were atheists (communists) we would cater (as you most aptly put it) much less than we now do. We should note that when Saddam suddenly became an "enemy" of the West he just as suddenly became a devout Muslim. He cast aside the whiskey bottles and porno flicks in order that the mullahs would protect him from we infidels in the West who would pick on poor Islam.
