Israelis don't get the pointReader comment on item: Interview: ‘I watch with frustration as the Israelis don't get the point' Submitted by Nenette Grunberg (United States), Jun 13, 2006 at 16:40 My previous comments on the subject of lambasting Israel were most likely not what readers wished to read or hear. The victorious battles and the victorious generals are gone. Their famous assaults and victories admired by the entire world and that gave us , the jews living in the Diaspora a great sense of pride and strength. We suddenly turned from being known as the scared little jews of the Eastern European countries into a pride of lions after Arab countries' several tries at defeating Israel gave up . The problem is that each Israeli victory became our victory and we all actually behaved as we all had grown six feet taller. Now even the fundamentalist christians expect Israel to go on the assault to save christianity's ancestral birth places and to get rid of Iran's nuclear reactors. Why not ! They could go to Damascus if left to do so , they could cross the Suez Canal, and go to Cairo ,if left to do so,they went to Entebbe to save jews, they went to Iraq, why not to Iran. But today Israel is a nation among nations . What we, the people living in the Diaspora want are Israelis to behave like the old pride of lions because we, the jews in the Diaspora's sense of security is weakening and so is christianity's as well.
