Reader comment on item: Israel Does Not Need Palestinian Recognition?

Submitted by michael wise (United States), Jun 28, 2006 at 11:59

After due deliberation and consideration the verdict is in.

The experiment in Gaza has demonstrated once and for all that the Arab leadership has no interest in creating a peaceful society living alongside Israel in harmony and tolerance.

Therefore, we hereby declare that the occupation and administration of the West Bank has been terminated.

The entire west bank territory without exception is hereby declared to be an integral part of the state of Israel. The demographic future of the state is secure.

The Palestinian Authority is hereby disbanded on the West Bank. All quasi-governmental agencies, all militia groups and all organizations and entities hostile to the Jewish State of Israel are ordered to be disbanded immediately. All weapons and armament is to be deposited with local police and military authorities.

The residents of the West Bank who declare their intent to accept the authority of Israel will all be candidates for permanent residency and/or citizenship. Those who are not prepared to accept the new status will be removed to the Gaza Strip with appropriate financial consideration.

The entire State of Israel will be governed by local authorities elected in district elections over the next two years. The civil and religious rights of all peoples will be guaranteed.

The hundreds of thousands of Arabs who have escaped from the West Bank into pre-1967 Israel will be welcome to return to their homes on the West Bank.

The end of the administration is anticipated to bring economic prosperity, social reform and political stability to an area that has too long been subject to the machinations of a violent and hostile corrupt leadership.

p.s. wouldn't it be nice if our leadership understood the power of sane unilateral actions. the oslo, camp david, roadmap, two-state solution experiment has failed.

it is so thoughtless to go back into gaza and then leave and rebuild the damaged properties. the time has come to implement a permanent solution.
