What's good for the goose is good for the gander!Reader comment on item: The Arab Argument over Hizbullah Submitted by Dr RJP (United States), Aug 11, 2006 at 13:50 Why is it that Jews and Israelis always have to be on the defensive in regards to territories? Because of their inaction and self-doubts, they have contributed to the mindset that Israel sits on occupied Arab land when the reverse is true. Israelis and Jews worldwide have every right -- using the logic presented by Arabs and Muslims -- to demand the return of their land, and to point the finger at arabs who are the illegal occupiers. Instead, the vast majority of Jews help to perpetuate the myth of Palestine by their silence. Despite internationally-recognized peace agreements with Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, Palestinians and their sympathizers refuse to recognize ANY border and continue with their bogus claims of "occupation." "Occupation" is the Big Lie, and as Hitler, Goebbels, and Lenin have have said, "a Big Lie is more effective than a lot of little lies, and the more you repeat it. the more it becomes the truth." One of the ways to combat Islamic terrorism and Islamic imperialism is to mount a reverse PR campaign against the Islamic idea that, if they had occupied a territory for any period of time -- even a few minutes -- it becomes theirs. Most people do not realize that this is the basis for their claims of "occupation." Israel was a desert before the Jews returned to it, and it hsould be clear to the world that Jews, and only Jews, are the rightful owners, for Only Jews tended the land and made it bloom. The land that suddenly becomes so important to Palestinians -- thanks to Yassir Arafat (Enemy #1 of the Free World) -- was left to rot and go barren by the so-called "rightful owners." So, I say again: "Any claims that Arabs make about the land can be made by Israelis, and have more credibility because there has never been a country or state called "Palestine" and Palestinians are no different than Jordanians, Egyptians, and Syrians, ad infinitum. Jews should be marching in the streets, carrying signs with big maps of Israel, circa 1,000 BCE, that read: "NO PALESTINE = NO OCCUPATION!" and "WE WERE HERE 2,000 YEARS BEFORE YOU!" Palestinians already have their own state -- it's called JORDAN, and they do not deserve to have another one. Take a look at the whole map of the Middle East and North Africa, and all of the land masses owned by Arabs. Pay particular attention to Iraq, Saudfi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, jordan, and Egypt: these countries expelled over 850,000 Jews from their homes and stole their homes, land,. and possessions. If you want to talk about "Right of Return," let's start with the expelled Jews first. Ask an Israeli Arab in which Arab country he or she would rather live. The answer will be "NONE Of THE ABOVE." Arabs living in Israel have the highest standard of living in the Middle East and the greatest number of individual freedoms. Ask them if they would prefer to live in PA-controlled Gaza or Israeli-controlled Haifa. I seriously doubt that Israleli Arabs would choose Gaza chaos that Palestinians have brought upon themselves Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
