What to do about the Middle EastReader comment on item: The Arab Argument over Hizbullah Submitted by Christine (United States), Aug 11, 2006 at 17:30 The attacks on Israel must be recognized as attacks on the West and all it stands or ever stood for. we can never repeat often enough to all who sut their eyes to the facts, that Israel - like unoccupied Cyprus - is the last outpost of Western Civilization. Islam has been assaulting across the face of the earth, every inch that is held by "the dirty Kaffir" - the non-Muslim, unbeliever - for at least 1,000 years. Islam has paused, even seemed to withdraw, but then has attacked again, with greater ferocity and even more duplicity and cunning than before. The greatest weapon of Islam is patience. Muslims bide their time, all the while, crouching, silent but ever lethal, like a beast in the underbrush waiting and watching for the moment when their prey is off guard or - as Mohammed advises - asleep, to spring forth for the kill. This is what Islam is doing now. It lurks among us in various guises. Chief of these in the USA is CAIR, the fifth column that to the unsuspecting seems to be just another form, now a merely Islamic YW/YMCA, all to willing to help its own adjust to the "hostile" contemporary culture of our cities, and better yet for Muslims whose sensitivity has been bruised, to be compensated, handsomely, for having suffered a loss of "civil rights. Nothing becomes a Muslim so much as to play the victim.... Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
