Speaking of Conspiracy Theories...Reader comment on item: How Consequential Are 9/11 Conspiracy Theories? Submitted by Dan Newit (United States), Aug 15, 2006 at 01:04 ...did you hear the one about the 19 hijackers who couldn't even fly Cesnas who managed to outwit a multi-trillion dollar military apparatus? How they came from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and thereby necessitated a protracted, futile war in the country of Iraq? About how they managed to knock down THREE gigantic skyscrapers on 9/11, AT FREE FALL SPEEDS, when only two of them were hit by airplanes? The best part is that they managed to blow up the third building simply due to their terrifying hatred of freedom (and oops! that third building was home to the largest CIA office outside of Washington. If you've never heard that theory, read "The 9/11 Commission Report". It's the best damn conspiracy theory you've ever heard of. Crazy as Ross Perot's aunt in the basement, of course... But a fantastic piece of fiction. Kind of makes you wonder what the Truth is... Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
