use of termsReader comment on item: More on Naveed Haq, Seattle's Sudden Jihadi Submitted by G.M. Kressel (Israel), Aug 19, 2006 at 01:09 Dear Daniel, ‘Fascism', like capitalism, socialism, syndicalism, etc' were all terms of reference and arguments in use prior to perestroika and the demise of the Soviet Union. These are largely ideological perceptions and dissimilar in substance and meaning to the claims exchanged during the ‘age of belief' and again, anachronistically, at present—between the blocks of Islam and Christianity. Therefore, it seems, we need better definitions to typify the materials debated now. Islam does not accept the segregation of creed and State. This trait doesn't make it resemble fascism, which was largely secular and nationalist. Islam advocates the perception of the Umma rather than the nation. My suggestion, place an access on gregariousness vs. individuality, close and open minds, dogmatic vs. reform approaches. Focus attention to the rekindled intra-Muslim race over jihad, aimed at leading the Umma; the late Ez-Zarqawi, financed by Sa'udi petrodollars, the deputy of Sunni jihad, versus Nasralla the Shi'it one, supported by Iranian (‘Ajam) petrodollars. As regards Israel, give attention to patterns of scapegoats and scapegoating, and the role played by the Jews in this respect, to unify heterogeneous (tribal) societies, in both the East and the West. Am I any clearer, Yours,
