Decreased violence means an end is in sightReader comment on item: To End the [Palestinian] Violence Submitted by Ronnie Tharp-Garber (Israel), Jan 7, 2003 at 15:02 Dear Mr. Pipes,Sorry, but we who have lost our loved ones, our babies and our grandmothers, our teenagers, don't see it the way you do: Decreased violence = increased desire (after a prolonged period of time) to cease and desist their battle cry. Yes, you can find statistics to verify your position, and thank God you are out there doing this. But I assure you, they are re-grouping with Al Quaida and Hizbullah and planning a big fat Mega attack against us Jews. It's nice to know that the Palestinians will eventually become fed up with trying to murder all of us. If one's initial assumption is that all they want is a job and 3 squares a day, that is...and a state of their own. But, that's not what they want. Nor is it what 22 Arab nations want. For 1400 years, it's not what an Arab Muslim wants when he's on the subject of the Jew. They want us dead. They have systematically been attempting genocide against the Jew for 1400 years. You don't murder two young boys by stoning and then...after the bodies are cold, deface their bodies beyond recognition...because you want jobs and 3 squares a day, or a state of your own. You don't lynch soldiers, rip their innards apart and eat the organs and grin for the crowds with your teeth full of Jewish blood because you're just not making enough money to survive anymore. We are dealing with an enemy that wants to exterminate us. They think of us like the Nazis thought of us: we are vermin and need to be eliminated. They collaborated with the Nazis. And now, they pass out sweets when our children are chopped into bits. They blow us up in busses, lay and wait until the survivors climb out, and then finish us off with machine guns. Extra points for hitting a pregnant young woman or an 82 year old man. We are also increasingly dealing with an enemy that has become more bold and has hit us in our houses of worship, desecrating our religious rituals such as our Passover and our Sabbath. Netanya Seder civilians, Hebron Shabbat civilians, yeshiva boys on Shabbat, etc. The message is clear: This is not an attempt to prove a political point. This is an attempt to destroy us as Jews...our religion. We are the infidel and must be destroyed! Blowing us up in busses and restaurants is a heinous crime. But murdering us while we are at prayer is a sacrilege. We here in Israel are not holding our breath, waiting for this enemy to get tuckered out of trying to murder us. Maybe the Israeli Left are. But the Israeli street is not. You won't find what I've said in any Israeli newspaper. I work with Israelis. Mainstream Israelis. Good people. Sane people who have only wanted peace since the day they were born. They will tell you what I have told you. Sincerely, Ronnie Tharp-Garber, Jerusalem
