Jerusalem is key

Reader comment on item: To End the [Palestinian] Violence

Submitted by J.Shearer (United Kingdom), Jan 14, 2003 at 17:18

Much as I would like to share Daniel's optimism, I don't see any reasons for such.

The Israel-Palestinian war, has been for the last decade, part of the global Koranic jihad. The primary goals of the jihad, in this context are

1. To conquer territory which is seen to be Muslim i.e., Israel.
2. To impose Islam on the main religious symbols of Judaism and Christianity, i.e, control of Jerusalem.

The first affects Israel but the second has implications for all Jews and Christians alike. If Islam ever managed to secure the second goal, the whole of the Christian world, from the US to Philippines, will have to defer to Muslim wishes. For instance, to secure access to Christian Holy sites, the West may have to grant a special place to Sharia law in our own societies. Thus the process of Dhimmification of the non-Muslim world will gather pace, as more and more concessions are demanded.

We need to continuously remind ourselves, that the forces of jihad do not accept compromises, except as a short-term measure, when faced with defeat.

Now it has seemed to many, that Arafat's rejection of Barak's offer of 95% of the Judaea and Samaria, as making no sense whatever. However Arafat's and the Arab's primary interest is in securing the above two goals. And to this end, Arafat demanded that Israel acquiesce to a 'right of return' for all Palestinians and their descendants. Quite rightly, Israel declined to commit suicide.

In the long term though, any gain for Islam in sovereignty over Jerusalem, has far greater implications for us winning or loosing the war. If Islam ever managed to secure the second goal, then the whole of the Christian world, from the US to Philippines, will have to defer to Muslim wishes. For instance to secure access to Christian Holy sites, the West may have to grant a special place to Sharia law in their own societies. Thus the whole process of Dhimmification of the non-Muslim world will gather pace, as more and more concessions are demanded.

Islam's claim to Jerusalem is totally spurious. Jerusalem is a Holy place for Judaism and Christianity only, and in that order.
I therefore believe that Jerusalem is the key to the West's survival. We need to continuously remind ourselves, that the forces of jihad do not accept compromises, except as a short term measure, when faced defeat.

In this war, the US is the first and last defence of Western civilisation, as for all practical purposes, Europe is well on the road to Dhimmification.
