When Inside the Box Is Really Outside the BoxReader comment on item: Saddam on death row Submitted by Julian Tepper (United States), Nov 11, 2006 at 18:00 Here is a thought. Please do not dismiss it out of hand, notwithstanding its strangeness. Please also do not analyze it primarily in terms of how others might react to it. Give Hussein much of life's creature comforts. Food, books, radio, tv, lighting, etc. However, put him in a room that is, in essence, a jail cell that allows him to look out and others to look in. Position the room in an impregnable setting, perhaps underground. Allow the public to come and view him as if he were a museum piece, but in a setting that would prevent him from communicating with them. Hussein's punishment is, at the least, loss of freedom and privacy. It would be attended by, I believe, a humiliation that would also be psychologically healing for those who hate or despise him.
