A Molehill Whose Slopes aren't very Slippery

It's tough for an outsider to this group to believe that otherwise reasonable people really, really think that an Islamic takeover is a reasonable prospect in the U.S. or Europe. I'm reminded of an uncle of mine who announced he had lung cancer every time he coughed twice in a row.

Making accomodations to the customs of immigrant groups has been standard operating procedure in multi-cultural states forever. One negotiates these things so that everybody feels like they've been treated with respect as when the Brits made sure that the bullets issued to Muslim sepoys were greased with beeswax instead of pig fat, a policy decision which probably didn't bring the day of Queen Victoria's conversion to Islam much nearer.
