British Citizen,
So because these are "old men" they can't be terrorists? Think about it for a moment.
Osama bin laden is at least as old as they are, Saddam Hussein much older and Yassar Arafat the oldest of the group. It is the "old men" who ARE the leaders. As a "wise and learned" 16 year old you would fit right into their organization(s) as a suicide/homicide bomber. Would you like to join? The pay isn't much but the benefits (72 virgins waiting in paradise) are supposed to be great!
When you grow up you may realize that without this leadership providing the planning, material and financial support terrorism would cease to exist.
Do you think that the 16 year old suicide/homicide bombers come up with their ideas and munitions on their own? Sorry! It is the "old guys" who are using the "young guys" as their sacrificial "F-16's" (to quote an "old guy" Palestinian leader).
