Response to Hekmatullah NafeReader comment on item: Muslims in the West: Can Conflict Be Averted? Submitted by ramsesy99 (Colombia), Jan 16, 2007 at 15:47 As-Salmu Alaykum dear brother in humanity and in Islam, Thanks for your comments and trust. I am not a theoligian nor to claim myself an Islamic scholar, indeed I am a common person who just try to strive in life following the right path as possible as one can. Rashad Khalifa was known to me for a long time in different stages, work and locations, thus my knowledge about him is bound to his conduct and behavior. Indeed, I didnt hold high regard of him as a person throughout the time I knew him. As far as Quranic responses about him and his fraudulent conducts and false claims of prophethood , I can fairly say he was a manipulator based on: 1) Treating the muslim Holy book as if it is sacred and divine only because of Khalifa miraculous discovery of the number 19 myth is an insult not only to Islam as a faith but also to human intelligence( some Jews tried something similar about their holy writings centuries ago)!. Such claim is ridiculous, and the Quran has to be judged by its letters and spirits and not by so-called mathematical models. In fact whatever translation to languages other than its original arabic will never give or demonstrate the whole quality of the book. The beauty of the Quran is in its entire composition, logic, illustrations, concepts, life styles and conducts, and deep meaning that need a whole life of studying and search. In Islamic studies there are scholars who are specialized only in Quranic studies, interpretation and teaching. Quran stated clearly that Muhammad is the last prophet, and a prophet has to be a messenger ( Rasul) with a divine message to deliver. Khalifa had nothing of that and those who have wished to believe him are victims of apostate, as some others who followed false self-claimed prophets before him in Islam and in other religions. 2) No one can be a real Islamic followers unless accepted the Quranic concepts and Muhammad Hadith (sayings) and teachings and practices (sunna). Khalifa had distorted parts of the Quran in his translation by deleting a whole verse because it contradicted his mathematical model and looked for a way to manipulate the Quranic concepts that may give him a claim of a divine messenger!. Moreover, he discrideted the whole Hadith and Sunna of Muhammad which are basic requirements for Islam. In nutshell he was a heretic and fraudulent person. 3) Khalifa sexually violated a female job-applicant teenager in Tuscon Arizona abusing his authority as a UN project reseacher. Brother you may seek further consultations with Islamic scholars at institutions such as Al-Azhar university , Cairo, Egypt. It was nice hearing from you, Mabrouk A. El-Sharkawy, PhD, Univ of Arizona, Tucson, USA, 1965.
