All Muslims are not the same!!!!

I still cannot believe that people can be so ignorant, especially the ones that provide us with the NEWS. How can one harshly criticize a religion and the people that believe in that religion? And the most disturbing fact is that most of us do not think from our own heads, but just believe whatever we hear or see from others. I do not have anything against anyone, but I do dislike people that do not respect others whether they are Muslims or not.

I dismiss the arguments Dr. Pipes wrote in his article on March 25, 2003, in the New York Post (http://www.danielpipes.org/article/1042)

I believe he is a smart man and ... has the right to free speech --which is one of the best things about the Constitution of the USA.

The main reason I disagree with him is because, I myself am a proud Muslim American. I came to the USA in 1988 and grew up all my life in the great nation and the best city, New York City. I have served in the NYCPD since 1995 and am currently serving with the US ARMY since 1998 and know many more Muslims that have done the same. We sacrifice our lives each day just to keep NYC and the USA safe and we do it because we love it and we are proud of it. If I start the examples, I will never finish writing. There is even an American Muslim Law Enforcement Officer association and am proud to say that there are members from Law Enforcement agencies across the US and have hundreds of active members.

Did Dr. Pipes not know about a Muslim NYCPD Cadet that sacrificed himself in the World Trade Center? This cadet did this voluntarily. He was not sent there by the Police Department. He was off duty at the time, yet he rushed into the building to help the victims of the attack and gave his life for the city and the American people.

Did Dr. Pipes not know about a Muslim EMT worker that works for the Fire Department of New York? This person did the same thing he was off duty when the attacks took place, yet he still managed to hail a volunteer ambulance and went to the WTC site. He did this to save the people of New York. Both of the stories are documented and the EMT with FDNY even told his story to one of the biggest magazines. Why didn’t Dr. Pipes write about these men as well as the bad Muslims? And do the people that read his article just believe that all Muslims are bad and should be discriminated against?

I myself, after hearing about the attacks went to help and was there with my unit for several weeks, searching through the debris and going days without any sleep. I know of so many Muslims that went to volunteer their services. You name it -- Muslim Doctors, Nurses, and EMT workers all volunteered their time. I can go on and on with the list.

My point is just to show that all Muslims are not violent and they love human beings and love peace and teach peace to their children. Yes, we have some radical Muslims. Can someone name one group or religion that does not have these people also? We hate these people just like the Americans and the people from the rest of the world do...

About SGT. Akbar from the 101st Airborne Division, if he is found guilty he should be treated like a criminal and given the harshest punishment, even death. But before we come to any conclusions we need to find out the circumstances related to the attack. Maybe there was another motive. We have to know the facts before we judge someone. If he did it because he is a Muslim then, I strongly condemn it and hope he is put to death. I am a soldier and have always learned that soldier always takes care of his buddy even risking his life to save his buddies. With the last word, I am a Proud AMERICAN MUSLIM!!! And I will give my life for the just cause.
