"Islamist" PaintballReader comment on item: Islamist Paintball, Anyone? Submitted by Mahmoud Khatib (United States), Apr 17, 2007 at 17:51 So I'm an Islamist? I never knew. Thank you for letting me know where I stand, Mr. Pipes. Am I right in assuming that you are an anti-Islamist? Please correct me if I'm wrong. I should also point out that you cited Front Page Magazine's suspicion about the Embry-Riddle MSA long before you knew anything about me or my beliefs. But this water under the bridge. Or if you insist that I use a more "Islamist" idiom: this is yesterday's Athan. You see, some of our current MSA officers are making plans for a joint paintball trip with the MSA and the Catholic Student Association. If possible, we'll try to get some of the other religious clubs on campus to participate as well. Imagine Muslims, Christians, Jews, and other students all having fun playing paintball together without fear, hatred, or suspicion. And I know that this idea is not just my "Islamist" imagination at work. You see, our MSA's very first paintball trip-- the one which I organized back when I was President-- had a member of the Christian Fellowship Club come along. We all had a great time. In fact, our old MSA website's paintball picture (the one cited by Front Page Magazine) has him standing with us, paintball gun in hand, and a big smile on his face. Take a look: http://clubs.db.erau.edu/dbmsa/MSAgroup2smaller.JPG So much for "Islamist" paintball. If you like, I will happily send you photos after our interfaith paintball trip.
