The Problem With Israel "Doing A France"Reader comment on item: What will the future political landscape look like in Israel in the aftermath of the Winograd report? Submitted by orange yonason (United States), May 10, 2007 at 20:18 B"H I certainly hope you are right, AnneM, but remember that Israel has ALWAYS voted for those who it thought would stand up against terrorists. The problem is, they all lied. From Sharon to Barak to Bibi and beyond. Israel has never voted for someone who promised to sell it out. So, even if someone comes along and promises to be tough, how do we know if we can believe them? That's why I said to look at what they do, not what they say. And if they have a history of duplicity, well that's a really big red flag. But, as the saying goes, "from you lips to G-d's ears." You are correct that Israel needs someone who will stand up for our rights to our land, and who is more interested in running the country than in keeping his seat in government. Short of that, we will only have more of the same, or worse G-d forbid.
