Political correctness or realityReader comment on item: Do Radical Islamists Run the Middle East? Submitted by Walter S. Gee (United States), Sep 9, 2007 at 16:28 I am by no means anything but a gross amateur when it comes to Islam. With that said, it appears to me that we non-moslems in the United States must face up to certain realities that we now face. First of all, we were attacked by moslems from the mideast who hail from nations who support radical islam and pour millions into building mosques that support terrorism here in the United States and around the world. The mideast has done this not just once, but many times by radical islamists, both shia and wahabists. It seems clear that even so-called moderate moslems are actively promoting their quiet agenda of world domination by islam. What non-moslems totally fail to understand in all of this is that there is absolutely no compromise with islam. They make truces, treaties, and agreements that they have no intention of living up to in pursuing their goal of world domination in the name of their god Allaah. People of the book ( Jews and Christians) are simply to be exterminated. The only working democracy in the mideast is the enemy of every islamic nation, who have sworn to eradicate it as well as us. But we don't believe them. What was a squall we have succeeded in turning into gale, with the prospect of it turning into a tornado. Instead of isolating and sanctioning governments that finance these enemy warriors, we do the opposite. Instead of massive force followed by quick extraction and massive propaganda exposing islam as a bloody 7th Century relic of savagery and ignorance, we glorify it to young moslems as an underdog bravely fighting the evil empire of Satan. Not content with that we then arm some of our worst enemies with some of the world's finest weapons that will undoubtedly be used against us one day. In the meantime, our American leaders play footsies with the world of islam and call it a religion of peace. Of course to a moslem that is a true statement. Their peace is a world run by islam after bloody conquest of all the infidels and either their conversion, submission without rights, or murder. Not only have we done this, we at the same time have committed ourselves to an unwinable war of attrition. The idiotic ideas of the elitists establishing an American Empire that eradicate our borders have harmed us more than islam itself. The real problem is that we have taken up a meat axe instead of a scalpel. Instead of concentrating on the perpetrators of terrorism exclusively and quarantining its supporters wherever they are found, we have helped them to spread their poisonous gospel of savagery. In the process we are bankrupting ourselves and poisoning the well we drink from. Our Constitutional Republic is severely wounded and the jihadists know it. Only one strategem will work and it is not 200,000 troops put in harms way so that multi-national elitist corporations can profit from their blood.
