Beck wrong about Germany and Syria/IranReader comment on item: Do Radical Islamists Run the Middle East? Submitted by Chicagodoc (United States), Sep 15, 2006 at 10:50 Beck is wrong when he says: "It was a minority of Germans that put Hitler into power. Islamic fundamentalists, they don‘t really comprise the majority of the people in the Middle East." Germans overwhelmingly supported Hitler and the murder of Jews. Only current apologists for the Germans say that the Nazis somehow managed to "kidnap" the German people and make them into the monsters they were in WWII. Similarly, only aplogists for Middle East Muslims state that the Islamofascists have managed to "kidnap" your average Muslim who would otherwise be a supporter of peace. The fact is that Muslims, in poll after poll, overwhelmingly support the murder of Jews and Americans. I wish Dr. Pipes had been more forceful on this point.

But I did not have the time to parse them individually. It was a tv program, not a seminar. << Previous Comment Next Comment >> Reader comments (43) on this item
