Can't We All Just Get AlongReader comment on item: Do Radical Islamists Run the Middle East? Submitted by Blackspeare (United States), Sep 19, 2006 at 20:58 What we are seeing today and for most of recent history is the 80/10/10 Geopolitical Syndrome where 80% of a population sit on the fence and just want to be left alone; 10% is tenaciously on one side of the geopolitic; and the other 10% is fervently on the other side. Whichever 10% dominates the polical scene intimidates the 80% and determines the course of government. Currently, the Islamic radicals/extremists dominate and so we have riots and terror. When the Islamic moderates dominate then Islam will have reached it's golden era much as the Christian Church did during the Rennaisance. Meanwhile, when Iran finally produces nuclear weapons, I don't know about you, but I see a resurrection of an old cottage industry----the nuclear bomb shelter business.
