And now "History Alive!" is in California ELEMENTARY Schools for the 2007 School Year!Reader comment on item: "History Alive!," Scottsdale Schools, and a Reader's Comment at www.danielpipes.org Submitted by Liberty_or_Death (United States), Nov 1, 2007 at 15:38 The worst about this situation is that parents don't care. You hand your kids (because I didn't mine) to statist, atheistic educrats, who see no difference between religions or any importance in religious indoctrination, since there is no God any way (opiate of the masses, you know), and this is what you get: the loss of your First Amendment right to freedom of religion. But, for Christ's sake understand what our Founding Fathers meant by freedom of religion! Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story (Sep 18, 1779 - Sep 10, 1845) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Story) on his "Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States": "[The state's] duty of supporting religion, and especially the Christian religion, is very different from the right to force the consciences of other men, or to punish them for worshipping God in the manner, which, they believe, their accountability to him requires. It has been truly said, that "religion or the duty we owe to our Creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be dictated only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence" Furthermore, "The real object of the [First] amendment was, not to countenance, much less to advance Mahometanism, or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among Christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to an hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government. It thus cut off the means of religious persecution, (the vice and pest of former ages,) and of the subversion of the rights of conscience in matters of religion, which had been trampled upon almost from the days of the Apostles to the present age." http://www.constitution.org/js/js_344.htm Hear, Oh Church of America, the LORD our God, the LORD is one! "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." God in Trinity and Trinity in Unity. Amen.
