_History Alive!_ used in Missoula, Montana schoolsReader comment on item: "History Alive!," Scottsdale Schools, and a Reader's Comment at www.danielpipes.org Submitted by An angry Montanan (United States), Mar 17, 2009 at 21:53 _History Alive!_ is being used as the social studies textbook in Missoula County schools, in Missoula, Montana. As a Roman Catholic, I'm stunned to see how Catholicism is treated, and how the Western roots in Judaism and Christianity are given a small amount of attention. However, Islam is given a huge amount of attention, and detailed instruction in the faith, without any complexity. As well as having its own section in the book, it enjoys a subsection in the section on West Africa. Judaism is not in the index--but "Jews" is listed, with only a couple of entries. I notice that the descriptions of how the Germans undid the Roman Empire are very positive, and am reminded of the collusion between Germany and Islamic countries between and during the World Wars. The entries on Islam are incredibly dishonest--you would think by reading the description on Sharia law that it was a benevolent help to sustain joyful lives. Totally disgusting. Sometimes I feel as though we're dead ducks.
