History Alive textbook propaganda invading rural communitiesReader comment on item: "History Alive!," Scottsdale Schools, and a Reader's Comment at www.danielpipes.org Submitted by Mark Walker (United States), Nov 29, 2008 at 14:29 We live in Arlington, Washington. My son recently came home with an essay assignment covering the Islam religion. My 1st response was that it must be a mistake. I found his textbook, "History Alive, The Medieval Times", and began to read. I couldn't stop until I had read the entire book. Being a history major I was shocked to see this type of falacy slip in to our public schools. A complete propaganda piece that sugar coats and lies about the true meaning and intent of the Islam doctrine. That aside, when did we start pushing a single religion on our public school students? The Supreme Court made a ruling prohibiting teaching religious beliefs, unless it is strictly in a historical manner, and is in equal content to other religions. I am currently challenging our local school district into researching this more thouroughly, and pulling this curicullum from our schools. Any help in this process would be appreciated. So far I seem to be the lone voice crying in the wilderness. More parents act like it is no big deal!!
