A state dividedReader comment on item: Conservative pundit argues for 'victory' over Palestinians Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Nov 6, 2007 at 18:31 In my opinion, the threat to Israel's existence is not labeled under "current events" but is an on-going struggle. Just a glance at the Scriptures from Genesis through Malachi proves that Israel has always had enemies ready to destroy it, and would do so in one fell swoop. Unfortunately, much blood has been shed in order to keep Israel and the Jewish people a living, breathing symbol, of what I believe, is the power of God. Although not Jewish, I support Israel and the Jewish people everywhere and understand their plight, a tiny blessed oasis in the midst of hostile neighbours, who do not wish Israel to exist. Arabic cuisine is delicious and some Arabic music is delightful, but Israel and the Jewish people are blessed with something much more tangible: the promise of an everlasting covenant. It's very disturbing that so many universities are becoming anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic, even among some Jews in this country. The rudeness and heckling that Dr. Pipes has to endure at these college campuses seems so tiresome , time-wasting and counter-productive to any learning process. The threat to Israel's existence is very real, but I believe that the problems will not be resolved until a future date. In the meantime, there will continue to be conflicts and wars until true peace is established.
