The Jews need to accept Israel as the Jewish State

Dear Mr. Pipes:

One could well ask the question: To whom are you asking the question, "Accept Israel as the Jewish State?"

It is an important question, indeed- for ourselves first, then for the Arabs and the rest of the world. When we value the Torah, the land of Israel, and the Jewish people, collectively and as individuals, and have ourselves answered your question we will then be in a position to ask this question of others.

As you are aware, there are many controversial topics within our own circles that we need to address some of which are:

1. What is the definition of a Jew? (who is a Jew)

2. What are the characteristics of Israel that make it a Jewish State?

Many other important questions follow from these questions: If it is important for us to be a Jewish state, how important is it that we have professional soccer teams, movie stars, and all the trappings of the non-Jewish states or countries?

So I hope you agree that we have so much to discuss within Israel, we have no time now for concerning ourselves that Yasser Adeb Rabbo, Salam Fayad, Ahmed Queri, and Saeb Erekat, and the rest of these "rashaim" are uncomfortable with the concept of "Israel as a Jewish State".
