Divisions within a monolithReader comment on item: Not Child's Play: The Teddy-Bear Intifada Submitted by David W. Lincoln (Canada), Dec 3, 2007 at 22:46 I find it interesting. Gov't sanction to the demonstrations, but elements of the gov't to maintain the safety of Gillian Gibbons. Either way, the hotheads are content to make the rest of the world view Islam as a hostile entity. I guess they question how Muslim some Moroccans are. Why? Because they are working to present Islam with a human face, in the spirit of Dubcek wanting to present Communism with a human face in 1968. Well, we all know how that turned out. The Warsaw Pact, back then saw to it that Communism with a human face is not allowed to succeed. I daresay the hotheads do not want the more peaceful Muslims to succeed, even though they would be more successful. For, even in the short term, the peaceful Muslims would make more gain in dividing the world between the ummah and the infidel (with the infidel being marginalized), than the hotheads in the same amount of time.
