Gitmo Arrests

Reader comment on item: The Guantánamo Arrests – What Do They Mean?

Submitted by James Hellwig (United States), Oct 1, 2003 at 22:35

Caught O'Reilly's show last night--was great to see you. Just wanted to say that I appreciate your adherance to 'truth' in the face of the attempts to politicize your stance.

I don't know if you're a liberal or conservative, and don't really care. Your message is one of common sense in the defense of our country and our civilization and is neither anti-Arab or pro-Israel (regardless of what the Arab/Muslim apologists say) but solely pro-American. You are one of the earliest and fewest authors and commentators to correctly identify WHO our enemy is--militant Islam of the Wahhabi-like strain.

It amazes me that I have seen no moderate or mainstream Islamic organizations supporting you in your analysis. Militant and moderate Muslim organization constantly try to politicize your message, deny its accuracy, distort your message (as was so clearly evident on last night's show), and divert attention away from the fact that "militant Islam" is the source of the terrorism that threatens our security.

I'm also stunned that the "liberal left" has come out against you--I can only surmise that they dislike those who don't equivocate, don't suffer paralysis of action, have a sharp focus on factual truth, and don't believe the US was responsible for 9/11.

Stay on message, Daniel. It's 'truth' in the face of lies and obfuscation.
