Daniel-- Im a little surprised that you ... re pulling out of Iraq even before there are minimal safeguards for a functional, representative and at least somewhat modernized, westernized government. If your approach prevails, yes, less American soldiers and others will be picked off by Moslem snipers in the short run, but the country will drift into the hands of fundamentalist haters of the West (and certainly of Israel and the Jews) and other parochial interest groups. The end result will certainly not be a new beacon light in the Middle East and a pacesetter for regional democratization of the Arab-Moslem Middle East,...
