Give the Iraqis room to runReader comment on item: Let Iraqis run Iraq Submitted by Glenn (United States), Oct 19, 2003 at 00:32 We did our part we got rid of Saddam and his crowd, at least for the time being. The ball is now squarely in our court and I agree with Dr. Pipes. The Iraqis need more room to run not less. They resent us trying to put them on the right path and it's only going to get worse. We should allow them to figure it out from here on their own and if that means a civil war and the break up of that country so be it. Iraq was a hobbled together mess of a country anyway , another product of 20th century British colonialism. We should ask ourselves, Why? Oh why are we the clean up crew for all the failed colonial experiments of the British and the French anyway? Didn't we learn anything from our fiasco in Vietnam ?
