The "guilty Israeli" may be extinct, but still walks and talks, still filled with hateReader comment on item: Yossi Klein Halevi: Israel's Withdrawal from Gaza a "Disaster" Submitted by Carl Sesar (United States), Mar 10, 2008 at 00:48 While no longer guilt-ridden, this Israeli still harbors hate in his heart, not for Palestinians, whom he may no longer like as much as he did, but for fellow Jews, right-wing and religious Jews in particular, and most of all, "the settlers." Culminating in the Gaza withdrawal, this hate found ample expression, blinding the guilty Israeli to the plain-as-day, inevitable, disastrous consequences. There wasn't any final, desperate gamble, because one good outcome was certain: "the settlers" would get just what they had coming. If Halevi is correct about these once guilt-ridden Israelis having awakened from their stupor, what are they going to do about "the settlers" in Judea and Samaria? I think they'll do nothing but more of the same, I'm sad to say. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
