Amil, you hit the nail on the head!Reader comment on item: Submitted by Nick4693 (Japan), May 6, 2008 at 20:18 I couldn't agree more with Amil Imani's posting. It may seem long-winded at 5,706 words, but I read every single one and urge others to do the same. I made a copy so that I can be reminded about Islam, should I ever be lulled into a sense of apathy by the appeasing, PC statements regularly issued by ignorant government officials, who obviously don't know their butt from their elbow. To give you one unequivocal example, Tony Blair, former prime minister of Great Britain, actually stated in a speech: To me, the most remarkable thing about the Koran is how progressive it is. I write with great humility as a member of another faith. As an outsider, the Koran strikes me as a reforming book, trying to return Judaism and Christianity to their origins, much as reformers attempted to do with the Christian church centuries later. The Koran is inclusive. It extols science and knowledge and abhors superstition. It is practical and far ahead of its time in attitudes toward marriage, women, and governance. Under its guidance, the spread of Islam and its dominance over previously Christian or pagan lands were breathtaking. Over centuries, Islam founded an empire and led the world in discovery, art, and culture. The standard-bearers of tolerance in the early Middle Ages were far more likely to be found in Muslim lands than in Christian ones. Can anyone with even a modicum of savvy believe that a so-called world leader would dare to make such outrageous statements? Perhaps he was confusing the Koran with "Alice in Wonderland." Somehow, world leaders just seem to find it easier than most to put their foot in their mouth! But this is no joke! The UK government recently decided to recognize polygamy as practiced by Muslims in the UK by granting extra social benefits to those with more than one wife! I have stated before that the Koran should be required reading for ALL government officials, so that they fully understand the foremost danger which threatens the world today. Christians have discarded the biblical commands to kill unbelievers, but Muslims, being mindless robots where their "religion" is concerned, MUST follow every single word in the Koran, or else.... Repeating what I once said in one of my postings, one can't be a little bit pregnant ; either you are or you aren't! By the same token, one can't be a little bit Islamic, that is, moderate. Muslims must go whole hog (pun intended) or they are declared apostates. There is no middle ground! They can't pick and choose their own degree or level of religiosity like Christians. They may wish to be moderate, but they daren't say so! I am not being picky by urging everyone to shun only Islam because of its evil intent. ALL religions have their own evil agenda, and that is to beguile, smother and control. Christianity, however, does it by gentle subterfuge; Islam wants to impose its insane form of belief onto the world by the sword! Thus, I sincerely beseech everyone to come to their senses and discard ALL religions, because they are ALL based on moth-ridden myths, fables and legends created by our ignorant , fearful, and superstitious forebears!!! Finally, unless we are vigilant about Islam, Muslims won't need a sword to dominate the world. Their aim, through uncontrolled immigration and fecundity, will be achieved at the polls!
