Profiling is necessary

Reader comment on item: A Call for Intelligent Profiling[ by Frederick Schauer]

Submitted by Sam Richter (United States), Dec 30, 2003 at 12:13

I want people who are interested in our democracy to ponder this very carefully--What if something the equivalent to 9=11 happened when our founding fathers were creating our constitution. Wouldnt they have restricted some of our civil rights. They would have become aware that there are such uncivilized people, that profyling and restricting of some freedoms would be absolutely necessary. Innocent people are not afraid of the law.
